Indispensable
Short Film — Shortlisted, Berlin Commercial Film Festival 2024
Fully analog (16 mm)
Indispensable interweaves the present-day journey of its protagonist with the past of a woman who was forced to flee her home country. Inspired by a list written by Radmila Erceg shortly before her departure, the film reflects on displacement through personal objects and fragmented memories. By connecting individual stories and belongings, the film forms an intimate portrait of refugee experiences. The project was deliberately shot on only two rolls of 30m Kodak 16mm film, embracing limitation as a narrative and emotional device.
